After graduating in Law, in 1883 he was admitted to the consular career and served at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs . Promoted vice-consul in 1885, he was
transferred to Marseilles, then to Salonicco, Smirne, Cairo and Buenos Aires
He died in service in 1891 .
